Aaralyn Burmillas
Aaralyn Cattery is a boutique cattery situated on Northern Beaches New South Wales just 30 minutes from Sydney CBD.
Longhair Burmillas in all 5 colours
We specialise in breeding Silver Longhair Burmillas and are capable of producing all 5 colours - Black, Brown, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac in both shaded and tipped pattern. However at this point we are mostly producing Black, Brown and Chocolate shaded/tipped kittens.
DNA Testing and genetic studies
We at Aaralyn Burmillas are dedicated to the Burmilla breed, hence we spend a large amount of time studying the genetics of our cats. Most of our breeding cats have been DNA tested for colour mapping and diseases identification. Cats that have not yet been tested are negative by parentage. Breeding is a scientific process. We believe in informed breeding and not breeding by chance.
Yes they are our cats!
Yes a lot of the cats you see on leading pet food brands are Longhair Burmillas. Aaralyn Cattery has provided numerous cats for advertising campaign over the years and it has been fun. Our most famous cat is defintely Lotus the Fancy Feast Cat. Dinky is also currently all of the Ultimates cat food range. Momo, Babydoll and Mia have also done various one off campaigns for magazine covers and other products.
Longhair Burmilla vs Australian Tiffanie
Although most of our cats have Australian Tiffanies/Tiffanies ancestors, the Longhair Burmilla is very much different to the Australian Tiffanie both in looks and temperament. All our cats are registered as Longhair Burmillas with CATS New South Wales
Our Longhair Burmillas are true semi-longhair cats with a low maintenance and low matting coat. Our cats are silky to touch without a big cottony undercoat which is typical of many early generation Longhair Burmillas and Australian Tiffanies.

Registered breeding cattery with CATS NSW
Aaralyn Cattery has been a registered breeding cattery with the New South Wales Cat Fanciers Association since 2003. We became a member of CATS New South Wales in December 2013. Our cattery is the home of the only 2 Distinguished Merit Award Longhair Burmillas in NSWCFA - Fuji and Lotus.
Kitten health - vaccination, desexing, microchipping, worming and vet checking
All our kittens are vaccinated against Feline Enteritis (Cat Flu) at approximately age 8 weeks and 12 weeks, desexed, microchipped, wormed and vet checked before leaving our cattery.
Kittens are usually ready to be rehomed from 12 - 14 weeks after their desexing operation.
WE DO NOT SELL OUR KITTENS UNDESEXED
Our cattery is Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) free
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is an inherited autosomal dominant disorder affecting approximately 36% of Persian cats . Characterized by the formation of cysts on the kidneys, PKD could lead to eventual renal failure and possible death. Since the Burmillas were originally created by crossing Burmese with Chinchilla Persian, PKD could be passed on from the Chinchilla parent. As a result, a good breed will always screen their breeding cats for PKD before breeding. DNA PKD testing is the only sure way to know if your cat carries the PKD gene. Accordingly, all our foundation breeding stock, even our pet cats have been DNA tested and are PKD negative. Our breeding stock is now PKD negative by parentage.
We are a boutique cattery with a small number of breeding cats.
All our kittens are well socialised as we are a boutique cattery. We only have a small number of breeding cats which means we have time for every single cat in the house, giving them all the attention and love they deserve. All our girls and boys are strictly indoor cats.
Burmilla bed invasion

Dinky tried to steal food from everyone else! As you can see he is not Dinky anymore.
We are keen exhibitors and actively support the improvement of the Longhair Burmilla breed
We attend in excess of 15 to 20 shows a year to ensure that the cats we breed adhere to the current Longhair Burmilla standards.
Over the past years, many of our cats have been awarded championship status and received numerous Best of Breed and top 5 awards. In 2006, MoMo became the first NSWCFA Gold Double Grand Champion Longhair Burmilla and Fuji also reached Champion status at a tender age of 9 months.
In 2007, our cats continue to do well at the shows. Fuji gained her Bronze Double Grand Champion Status in September 2007. Then in late 2007, our young Lotus was awarded "Best Female Kitten" at the Silver Persian Show and "Best Female Burmilla Kitten" at the Highlands Cat Club Show.
Simba was by far our best performing Longhair Burmilla exhibit in 2007. He was awarded numerous Best in Show titles including "Supreme Burmilla Exhibit" award by Liz Haimes at the Highlands Cat Club Show in October 2007.
MoMo also continued to make us proud. He was awarded Best Desexed Exhibit Group 3 and Best Burmilla Exhibit Overall at the Silver Persian Show 2007.
In October 2007, Aaralyn Burmillas participated in the NSWCFA judges seminar. We were invited to bring 4 of our best Longhair Burmillas exhibits to the judges training program. All the training judges including experienced Burmilla judge Rhondda Watson agreed that Aaralyn generation 3 Longhair Burmillas conform very well to the current NSWCFA Longhair Burmilla standards.

In March 2008, Lotus was awarded Best Female Cat (Group 3) by Liz Haimes and Reserve Best Female Cat (Group 3) by Allan Davies at the prestigious Royal Easter Show. This was her first ever show as an adult cat! Simba was also placed 4th best Cat by Alan Raymond.
Ch Aaralyn Scarlett Mimosa - black shaded spay owned by Gemma Reeves
In May 2008, Aaralyn Scarlett Mimosa was born. Mimi is Fuji's daugther and half sister to Lotus. Like her mother and sister, Mimi is also a showstopper. At 6 months of age, Mimi has already won 4 Best in Show Titles. She ended the year with TFA Desexed Kitten of The Year 2008 award.
In 2009, we have a bunch of new show stars, these include my own cats : Mia, Dinky and Holly and also desexed Burmillas Ochi, Monet, Mystique, Kenzo, Bonsai and Bella. All of these cats have done fantastically well on the show bench with Ochi, Monet, Mia and Bella constantly winning Best In Show placings. At the end of the year Ochi was awarded NSWCFA Reserve Desexed Kitten Gp 3 2009 and Silvertails Cat of The Year 2009.
Ch Aaralyn My Precious (Ochi) - black tipped neuter owned by Rebecca and Alessandra Puharich
In 2010, our cats continued to do well with our Qld show cats (Aaralyn Bonsai Blue and Aaralyn Kenzo Soleil) presented by Sherin and Kevin Chau gaining Gold Double Grand Champion status. Both Fuji and Lotus also gained their Distinguished Merit title which is amazing for the Longhair Burmilla breed as they are the first to gain this title. Aaralyn Ichi Ban Boshi, our young stud, won NSWCFA 5th Best Male Kitten of the Year and Silvertails Cat Of The Year.
In 2011, our cats did extremely well again at the Sydney Royal Easter show with Aaralyn Heartbreaker (Momo) taking out 3 Best In Show wins at 5 months of age. His parents Lotus and Boshi also participated with Lotus also winning 4th and 5th Best Female Cat in Show. Momo continues to do well and recently won another 2 Best In Show titles at the Newcastle Cat Show.
In 2013, our baby kitten of 16 weeks Poppy took out Best In Show and Reserve Best In Show at the 2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
We continue to be very proud of our cats achievements and would like to thank all our breeder associates who have contributed to our breeding program over the years.
We only use premium food
We only feed our cats and kittens the best quality food. We are a member of the Royal Canin breeders club and highly recommend their dry food products.
Everyday, our animals get a mixture of dry and wet food. At least once a week they will also get human grade fresh meat as part of their diet. Not to mention the yummy treats they get all the time.
Cats at Aaralyn Cattery are very happy cats :)
